Michael J. Wood, Genealogist confirms: "William Sherman "the pilgrim" was not related to those of Dedham. His is an occupational surname, and occurred elsewhere in England 400 years ago than the east of England, such as south west England."

I therefore note that William "The Pilgrim" Sherman is NOT descended from Henry Sherman 1512 "The Elder" of Dedham, Essex.
